Thanks to PDXBaller for the awesome previews!
Kansas City Coyotes at Portland Pythons
The Coyotes hit the road in week 13 to visit the Pythons in Portland for their last road game of the season. The Coyotes have had a rough time in the league this year and are currently standing at a 3-8-1 record overall. Bly Jr.’s numbers haven’t lived up to his hype as teams have game planned for the Cornerback well, but he’s still a threat that all other teams must respect in the last 2 weeks. Portland is sitting at a 9-3 record overall and would love to close out the season with a victory over Kansas City. The addition of David Turner has given the Pythons a respectable run game and they are now a versatile offensive threat.
Chicago Blues at Norfolk Seawolves
The Chicago Blues head to Norfolk to kick off their 2 game road trip for the last 2 weeks of the season. Chicago has struggled against Norfolk in the past and have lost in their 3 meetings this season. Norfolk is in prime shape with Wolverine Justice developing into the quarterback that the Seawolves had hoped for. Justice plays well at home and helped the Seawolves dominate Chicago the last time they were in town. Chicago probably won’t make the playoffs if they win both of their last 2 games so this will be a good opportunity for them to test some new strategies for next season.
San Antonio Marshals at Tijuana Luchadores
The main event of Week 13 will be a highly anticipated East matchup between San Antonio and Tijuana. Both teams boast strong running games with San Antonio’s Thomas Mango/Jack Stats 1-2 punch and Tijuana’s spectacular Sidney Spinelli. This will be a preview of the East playoffs as both teams are in position to clinch the 1 and 2 seeds of the Eastern conference. San Antonio has played with mixed results as of late and are looking to finish their season strong with 2 wins. Tijuana has become a DSFL powerhouse since their victory over the Marshals in week 6 and are now on a 7 game winning streak. Can the Marshals lay the smackdown in Tijuana to end the winning streak or will the Luchadores shooting star press themselves into the number 1 seed?
Chicago Blues at Kansas City Coyotes
Chicago finishes their 2 game road trip in Kansas City as they take on Andre Bly Jr. and the Coyotes. Even though both teams are at the bottom of their conferences, this should be a good game. Kansas City will need to stop the passing of Matt Strike to win this one. They have the best passing defense in the league and Chicago happens to have the best passing offense in the league so we could see a runaway score in favor of Chicago or a tight game in favor of Kansas City.
Norfolk Seawolves at San Antonio Marshals
The Marshals complete their season at home in San Antonio against the Norfolk Seawolves. The Marshals have the best rush defense in the league and will be looking to stop Conall O’Sullivan with every rush attempt and Wolverine Justice in the passing game as the Marshals also feature the 2nd best pass defense in the league. The Marshals’ play well at home and this will be a tough one for Norfolk to win if they can’t outplay the San Antonio defense.
Portland Pythons at Tijuana Luchadores
The Pythons slither their way down to Tijuana to face the Luchadores in week 14. Portland was able to narrowly defeat Tijuana in their early season matchup and both teams have evolved since their week 2 game. Tijuana has achieved a record setting winning streak and will hope to continue that success to close out the season. Issac Brown has thrown the ball well in the last 2 weeks with over 150 yards passing and the running game of Tijuana will potentially run Portland out of town! The Pythons will need the dynamic receiving duo of John Wachter and Carlito Crush to get the ball moving up the field quickly if they hope to make it back to Portland with a victory!
